A standard chili powder consists of a blend of powdered chilies, dried, cumin and oregano. Sometimes included in the blend are other spices that are mixed with these the prime ingredients. Epazote a rarely known spice. It is used to flavor beans since it can calm any intestinal discomfort beans may cause. Additionally, Epazote is also known as “Mexican tea.” Too much is also very pungent and is also poisonous in large quantities. Cocoa is used to add a very rich, warm flavor and is common in several dishes. Being a thick sauce that is often served over chicken, spices combined with small amounts of cocoa and peanut butter are used to create a mole.
