The meaning of the word fideo is noodle. The noodles in this soup make it a filling one that is sure to win you over. The noodles that are most often used are vermicelli noodles while angel hair can be a comparable substitute. Before the noodles are added to the soup base, they are broken up and browned. Other ingredients that are highlighted in this soup include peppers, onion, tomato, tomato sauce, chicken, chili peppers and more. This is a comfort food that people often turn to when they are looking for something that will warm them to the bones.
